Nelly Furtado was one of the many performers at the opening ceremony of Winter Olympics 2010 that is taking place in Vancouver. The others who had been invited to perform in the ceremony were Sarah MacLachlan, Donald Sutherland, k.d. Lang, and of course Bryan Adams, who performed a duet with Nelly Furtado. Added to them was a plethora of the dancers who came to perform from all over the world. Initially, it was not certain as to who would be performing in the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics 2010, as the performers line up was a pretty well kept secret.
However, as secrets go, this one too was leaked before long, and it was soon being speculated that Nelly Furtado would be performing in the opening ceremony of the Olympics, particularly in light of the fact that the ceremony promised to be a predominantly Canadian line up. However, it was not known beforehand that she would be performing along with Bryan Adams. The performance of Nelly Furtado along with Bryan Adams contributed much in dispelling the gloom that hung in the stadium, due to the death of a Luger that had occurred merely hours before the ceremony.
The two Canadian singers, Nelly Furtado and Bryan Adams, took the stage immediately after the performance of the Parade of Athletes. The two singers matched their vocal chords in a rousing rendition of the song “Bang The Drums”, a song composed by Bryan Adams himself and Jim Vallance. Nelly Furtado in Olympics looked her usual ravishing self in a one shoulder blue gown, with Bryan Adams being fitting company in his black suit.
