In the last 5000 years the Indian civilization has braved countless invasions by imperialist forces. Some of them won over the peace loving people of this country and ruled for hundreds of years. Our country has also faced and continues to battle armed opposition time and again from sections within.
These internal disturbances repeatedly challenged the integrity of the nation which is still under attack from the divisive forces operating in different parts. Supported by some external powers, these forces aim at cutting this oldest civilization into pieces and thus create a crisis of national identity.
To give a befitting answer to them, the government of India had framed a program in the name of National Integration Camp, decades ago.
The basic aim of such a program is to provide opportunity to the youth, irrespective of their caste, creed, community, religion or region, to exchange their cultures, customs and traditions among themselves for better mutual understanding and coexistence.
With a hearty touch of love and affection, attempts are made to inculcate the high moral values that are our national heritage.
With these aims and objectives, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, an autonomous body under the union ministry of youth affairs and sports, has initiated a camp between 20-26 February, in Agartala.
Non student youths from Assam, Manipur, Sikkim, Orissa and Jharkhand, numbering total 150, will participate in the camp along with the host state, Tripura.
Joy Gobinda Debroy, minister for science and technology of Tripura, shall inaugurate the 7 day camp at the Cooperative Training Centre at AD Nagar in the state capital.
The Zonal Director of NYKS, Tripura, Tapan Nag has said that all arrangements are being made to provide material as well as emotional support to the youths of different parts, so that this camp can have a lasting positive impression upon their hearts and minds.
