Eight years ago, the original story of an undercover cop infiltrating a street racing crew, “The Fast and The Furious” racked up $145 million and spawned two sequels.

As the gate receipts decreased for the two sequels, the film’s producer’s came up with a novel approach - reassemble the cast from the first film for the fourth installment and find a catchy title such as “Fast and Furious.”

Reunited Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriquez and Jordana Brewster may be an ode to the first film, but also is a clear indication that the film’s producers hope to catch lightning in a bottle once again.

From bigger and more daring stunts to the interpersonal relationships between the film’s main stars, it smells like somebody is trying to bring 2001 back - with a whole lot more cash!
